Canvey Island and Water

Water is the driving force of all nature - Leonardo da Vinci

Water is one of the most powerful forces on our planet. It sustains our bodies, nourishes the earth, and shapes our landscapes.

Water can also be incredibly destructive, wreaking havoc on communities and infrastructure.

As residents of Canvey Island, we are surrounded by water, with creeks to the north and the River Thames to the south.  Water defines Canvey Island, creating a strong identity and pride in the area.  It's important to understand both the positive and negative properties of water and to be prepared for any potential risks that may come with living near it. In this Flood and Environmental Awareness training, we will explore the power of water and how we can work together as a community to minimize risks and protect ourselves and our homes
