Leadership

Your roles as a 'Flood Resilience Champion' are:

  • To communicate with key individualslocal authorities, water management companies, emergency services and your neighbours.
  • To create and host flood resilience events: planning, advertising, and hosting these events, including coordination of volunteers and engagement with the public.
  • To recruit further volunteers to become 'Flood Resilience Champions': social media, local news platforms, leaflet mail-drops and community events are all effective tools to help foster bigger and better networks to rely on.
  • To assist the community before, during and after a flood: just a few key leaders in a community can have postive effects far beyond their individual efforts.

Remember, there can be multiple leaders in a community - each working to their strengths.

It is not anybody's responsibility to try to do everything listed above.
More can always be achieved when working together.
